How to Meditate through Art

– Don't make a plan for what yous volition draw.

– Allow colors to "cull yous," instead of the other fashion around. The green immediately caught your middle? Start with green.

– Don't over think what do draw next. Follow whatever impulses come up, no matter how featherbrained or "ugly" they might seem. Some of my best art experiences have happened this style. Of course sometimes the product is completely unattractive, but I'k in charge of the art. I tin can cut it upwardly, stow it abroad or throw it away.

– Permit become of your zipper to the art "product." The purpose of the activity is to feel the process of making art.

– See what your senses are noticing. What does the chalk feel like in your hand? What is the audio of the marker as yous move it back and forth? How hard or soft are you pressing? What do the art materials scent like?

– Play instrumental music, or music in a foreign linguistic communication so you are not focusing on words.

Meditative Art Grid

I made a sample for you. I wanted y'all to see that you tin do something VERY simple and it can be relaxing. For my dots, I used Q-tips dipped in paint. I was filling in the grid all at once, and so I repeated the theme in unlike formats in various dissimilar blocks.

You might also choose to use the grid as a "5 Minute Self-Intendance Technique" and simply putter inside each block when you need a five infinitesimal break. You lot could do this at piece of work, in the auto, or at the kitchen counter while y'all are waiting for water to boil.
